As the new President/CEO of Heritage Federal Credit Union, I would like to thank the Board and you for the opportunity to be a member of your management team. I would also like to thank all of you and the HFCU staff for being so supportive and encouraging over the past few months. As I have transitioned into my role as the new President & CEO, I am reminded daily of what an exciting time this is for our team and our members. Since starting my position with the Credit Union, I have been on a listening and learning tour with our senior management team, our board of directors, staff, and members to better understand the collective needs and priorities of all members.

Credit unions are where people come together with a shared purpose as members. They are a place of safety and trust, existing with a deep belief in doing what is right. Credit unions are where the outcome and future of each member and family who sit in our offices becomes the priority… not maximizing profit to a select few shareholders. Having been a part of the executive leadership team since 2011, I am very familiar with our member-first philosophy and the goals, strategies and tactics that have brought us to the successes we enjoy today. I am eager to lead the Credit Union into the future with an extremely supportive Board of Directors, a staff that continues to keep the member first in everything they do and a membership that is unequaled in the credit union industry.

I look forward to implementing new ways to grow our membership, provide more innovative systems and processes, and offer new products and services that will benefit all members. It is my desire and will be my objective to continue the tradition of providing our members with the best, personal, professional, and friendly member service, as well as, the latest technology-savvy, member-interfacing services of any other financial institution.

We also want to continue improving member experiences in our branches, in our information center, and through online banking and our mobile app. Regardless of which method you choose, we want that experience to be phenomenal. We want you to think of HFCU first when you need a mortgage or a loan. In 2018, we have significantly reduced the processing time for mortgage loans, which means our members’ loans get closed much faster.

And now, with the introduction of a new, automated account switching process, switching your direct deposit or recurring payments to your HFCU checking account is easy and so convenient. We have been adjusting and will continue to adjust certificate rates to encourage you to keep the certificate accounts you have with us, to bring over your other certificates to HFCU and to encourage friends and family to do the same.

Remember, doing business with HFCU benefits all members and enhances our ability to provide new services to all members.

At Heritage, we are very dedicated to helping our communities through donations and, especially, through volunteering for local non-profits. Our red People Helping People shirts have become a symbol of hope to the hundreds of thousands of people we have helped over our 53 years of service. The credit union philosophy of “people helping people” is as true today as it was 53 years ago.  I will work diligently to make sure the communities that HFCU serves grow stronger through our outreach initiatives.
